Rev Ben King

Team Rector

Ben arrived in Chigwell and Chigwell Row in late 2010, having served the first part of his ministry at the
other end of the country in Carlisle. Being the son of a Suffolk farmer, he is pleased to be nearer his roots.

Ben has a heart for prayer and mission and is encouraged to see the message of God’s love continue to
spread throughout the parish, not least on Limes’ Farm. In particular, Kidz Club, Cafe Church and the
community coffee morning have been a real answer to prayer and he is excited about all the future holds.

Ben enjoys cooking, music and walking. When he’s not relaxing at home, he can be found at the gym
three times a week sweating it out!

Paula Preston

Paula moved into the Parish in the Spring of 2016 having served in 2 churches in Cambridge for the previous 4 years. Earlier in her working life she has been a nurse and a secretary and loves getting out and about in the community.

Based in Chigwell Row Paula has a special interest in building up the churches work among children, young people and families and is delighted to be part of a dedicated team across The Parish.

Originally from St. Albans Paula still has a lot of family in Hertfordshire and is regular visitor there and when not relaxing with family and friends she enjoys swimming, walking and cooking with her husband Paul and regular visits to the theatre and concert hall where they enjoy a wide variety of music.

Elise Peterson

Elise arrived in Chigwell in 2016 after completing the academic part of her training at Cranmer Hall in Durham, which felt like returning home as she previously lived in Buckhurst Hill. Originally from America, Elise moved to the UK in autumn 2013 believing that God was calling her to ministry in the U.K. She now considers herself an Ameri-Brit, as England feels very much like home, but she knows she’ll never lose her American roots (or accent!)

Elise has a deep love for God’s Church and says it is where she feels most alive and in her element. She also has a passion for discipleship and helping people to understand how a life lived following Christ is the best life you can live.

Elise enjoys walking in the gorgeous England countryside and hiking in the mountains (when she can get to them!), reading a good novel or mystery, travelling around the British Isles and Europe, dabbling in gardening, hosting a good dinner party, and simply spending time with friends and family.
